About Bill ...

Highly regarded for his teaching skills, Bill's emphasis on connection and technique has had a profound influence on the Lindy Hop scene in the U.S. and abroad for the past 13 years.
Known as the teacher's teacher, there is an impressive list of dancers who have learned from Bill and gone on to international recognition:
Skye Humphries, Ramona Staffeld, Jojo Jackson, Andy Reid, Sarah Spence, Caitlin George, Chris Yee (founder of the Chicago Lindy scene), Chachi (Toronto), and all the members of Minnie's Moochers, the legendary Lindy Hop team who helped shape the modern Lindy Hop scene.

But what makes Bill stand out among the many teachers around is his ability to explain the details of technique to the common dancer. And his ability to help people rethink their own dancing, no matter how long they've been dancing.

Bill's influence is felt as far away as Sweden, Spain, Singapore, Japan, France, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, England, Scotland, Estonia, Australia & New Zealand. He has been on the teaching staff at Herrang Dance Camp, Swing Out New Hampshire, Beantown, and the American Lindy Hop Championships (ALHC). He also judges at ALHC, as well as the World Lindy Hop Championship.

Bill is also a highly respected DJ who has been invited to spin at Lindy exchanges, dance camps, and major events.

Teacher Training
Bill has been offering teacher training workshops for the past 7 years.
It is a powerful approach to teaching... helping you to learn to teach the core principles of dance & movement, instead of just teaching moves.

Bill's teaching speccialties
• Partner Connection - His clear and detailed explanations profoundly changes your dancing!
• Lindy Hop Technique - His explanations of balance, posture, and form elevates your dancing without learning new moves.
• Blues Dancing- For Bill, Blues Dancing is an art form full of powerful technique. He bridges the gap between slow lindy and expressive slow dancing.
• Swing Out Technique - His emphasis on strong basics has long been his trademark.

“Bill has an amazing ability to clearly communicate with his students. As difficult as it is to imagine trying to explain body movement and partner connection, Bill does it simply, with humor, and with a personal touch.” Jennifer Manning, Montreal

"I sit here, my feet sore from all the dancing yesterday, but my brain is still buzzing. What an amazing workshop! It was exactly what I needed. I love technique classes more than anything, and Bill is The
Man when it comes to explaining technique."
Daniela Bajitos, Ottawa

"I feel as though I just came from a really good private lesson. It's rare that I get anywhere near that much from a workshop,..... not only about my own dancing, but also lots of teaching ideas. " Bryn Morin, Ottawa

“I learned more in two days (of Bill's workshop) than I learned in my entire career of dancing.” Andrew Slac, Portland Or

Basics, basics, basics.
Posture, movement, bounce, connection, swingout basics.
It all hinges on the fundamentals, and no one is better at teaching fundamentals than Bill."
Ed Brody, Ct.
