"Blues dancing, the art of the slow groove".-

Learn to feel the rhythm or “pulse” inherent in Blues
music and to use your body to emphasize this rhythm . It will cover
basic steps, lead follow skills, and some basic syncopations, turns,
and dips so you can dance to a wide variety of blues music.
Its also an excellent way to work on partner connection, balance,
posture and musicality.
"Blues & Lindy - Making the Connection" -
all levels
This class will show numerous examples of how Blues gives
us the lead/follow tools to add musical elements to our Lindy Hop
vocabulary.
"Put the Swing in the Swing Out"
or "Smoothing Out The Basics" or
or "Tune Up The Basics"
(pre-req: knowledge of the Swingout, lindy circle)
This class will focus on making the Swingout look and feel good.
This is what really makes the dance work! Your dancing is only as
good as your basics. Advanced dancers never stop working on theirs.
"Leader and follower-icious"
or "Better Partner Connection" -
all levels
Bill & Julee's specialty. Bill and Julee break down the
principles of connection like no other teachers can. This will
get you rethinking your lead and follow skills and pushing
them to the next level to create a more dynamic, spontaneous
social dance .
"Theme and Variations" - intermediate
up through advanced
Learn how to play off a basic move and dynamically change it to
fit the music.
"Movement & Styling for all Dancers" (non-partnered)
This session focuses on how to fully express Lindy music in your
body. It will address posture, timing, balance and complementary
movement - all the elements of good technique. You will
see how good technique and better body movement leads to good styling.
"Listening and Musicality"
or "Connection & Improv"
- Int/Adv & advanced level
Explore advanced rythmical play and how to communicate musical interpretation
through connection, both as a lead and as a follow. This is
where the dance becomes a dynamic musical conversation between lead
and follow.
"Keepin the Groove"
or "Dancing with Momentum" - intermediate
Lindy Hop is not about moves, it's about movement. Learn the
art of leading and following with momentum and flow.
"Spotlight On The Student" - intermediate
and above (class size limited depending on time allotted).
Each student will get 5-7 min. of critique and praise in a small
group
setting (in front of peers). Each person will go away with 2 or
3 personal improvements to work on and learn
from the discussions about their peers' dancing.
It's like attending 15 private lessons, and getting one too!Master
class -- for the top dancers in the community. The pace will be
quicker..the material more challenging.
"The Art of Partner Stealing" -
intermediate and advanced
Learn the art of "stealing" partners - with finesse.
Have a glimpse of Lindy from the other side. This is actually
great for your dancing and fun. It will be hilarious and really
good for your dancing.
"Bal primer" - all levels
Learn the basics of Bal and Bal swing, one of the most popular ways
of dancing to faster music.

teaching techniques for teaching the fundamental principles
of LH and beyond. They will also share the philosophy
behind their success as teachers. There will also be opportunities
to critique and share each others teaching methods and
talk about issues affecting your dance community.
"Gender bender"
Switching roles can help you appreciate the nuances of lead/follow,
and give you more flexibility on the social dance floor. Besides
it's just plain fun!!
You must have some basic knowledge of the "other side"
